What I Drank 05/03/2013

Albarino is a white varietal which was made famous from the Spanish Rias Baixas. Albarino shows a lot of promise of the North Fork of Long Island and one of the leading produces has to be Palmer Vineyards. The 2010 Palmer Albarino (500ml Bottle) has a slight golden color in the glass.

The wine shows bright acidity with pineapple and melon notes. The mid palate continues to show strong acidity and grapefruit and cantaloupe flavors. The finish has good length and mid complexity. After three years this wine is still showing strong.

This wine is a great alternative to Chardonnay and Sav Blanc in the summer months. I highly recommend buying some bottles of Palmer Albarino.
